University of Miami may be a good choice for you because of its access to the entertainment industry. Several students chose to go here because they have a Music and Entertainment major in the School of Music and many choose to double major in another area through the School of Business. Both schools have excellent programs. The School of Business is a hidden gem with excellent advising and coursework which makes you think about business and discuss it (on a more practical level) outside of the classroom with other students. I know two students who have their own record labels and market actively in the Miami area and are gaining recognition and success. Plus, you get to meet so many students from other cultures and countries around the world and there is so much to do in Miami.

Alexandre: If i'm not mistaken, you may be misleading people. I spoke with an admissions director a few months ago regarding direct admissions into ross and what she said was that all applicants apply to their respective colleges, i.e. LSA, etc., then check off a box on the application to see if they would like to apply to ross as a preferred admit. She said that decisions for Mich (not Ross) would be rolling as usual and that from the accepted pool, they would send out Ross admission letters a little later after they see the overall strength of applicants. Who's right, you or her?

Drop, I never gave particulars about how one would go about applying to Ross directly from High School, nor was I certain of how the process would enfold. Obvioulsy, what the lady at admissions told you is correct. I assume applicants will first be admitted into the primary college they are applying to (Engineering, LSA or Kinesiology) and if they are admitted and checked the Ross option, they would be considered accordingly. But it does not change the fact that hundreds, if not thousands, will check the box to be considered for Ross and fewer than 100 will be admitted. So in a manner of speaking Ross will be a reach. Those who are not admitted directly into Ross will have to take their chances like everyone else.
