Here is my situation, and please tell me someone has been/is at the same boat with me since everyone is accepted and seems like I am the only who is still waiting.

My GPA: 3.3
TAG: NO
Major: Psych
From: Washington State

Most of my friends who applied UCD already received their acceptance email from UCD, and I am the only one who has not received anything. I have heard the acceptance notifications should be release on the same day, is that true?
I am so freaking nervous right now, because seems like my 3.3 gpa only qualifies to get in UCD among the top 4 campuses in UC. And here is my problem: In Winter quarter 2011, for some of the personal problem, I decided to quarter off. And I will be able to complete 90 units at the end of Summer quarter this year. So before my decision on taking off Winter 2011, I talked to one of the counselor in UCD and told her about my situation; she said it should be fine as long as i completed MY MAJOR PREREQUISITES BEFORE SPRING 2011. However, friends of mine told me UCD will never accept students who could not complete 90 units before the end of spring quarter, is that true? I saw people having lower gpa than me have already got accepted, and now I would really want to know not getting an email by these two days means NO?

The fact that you’re applying from a different state and a 4 year university will make it harder for you to get into a UC. Also the requirements for the UCs is either 60 semester units or 90 quarter units by the end of Spring.

This is exactly my problem! I am thinking would they reject me because I could not finish 90 units before the end of spring? Since I am 100% sure the counselor told me as long as i fulfilled my major prerequisites, i should be fine. And also, my friends in my state who also applied to UCD, have all got accepted already. Even the guy who is Communication major and has 3.4 gpa got his acceptance email too. Please help.

I’ve spoken to a couple people at UCD and UCSC, and it seems like finishing 90 quarter units by the end of Spring is pretty important to them. I think, since you’re also an out-of-state applicant, this could be detrimental. Out of state students have the lowest priority. With that said, the 30th will be here in no time. You will definitely know by then, so try not to freak out about it.

You need to finish what you’re going to finish before the summer semester, if you’re transferring in the fall. Whatever you’re taking in the summer, UCD is going to ignore for admissions purposes. Depending on how many prerequisites you’re missing, that might knock you out of the running.

Due to all kinds of rumours, I called their admission department this afternoon just to make sure everything.
So I talked to one of their staffs, and she told me yes people who have 90 quarter units before spring are considered as the primary candidates, but a case like me (will finish all the major prerequisites and only 85 units before spring, but will take the remaining 5 units during summer), it really depends. So she said I should know it at the end of this week.
PLEASE KEEP REPLYING THIS POST!! I NEED HELP!
