It’s my friends>>he’s counting on me to edit this, but I want some other’s perspectives as well. Thank you!!
Many people grow up in many different situations. Some move from place to place, each time having to accommodate to a new lifestyle they might experience. While others (some others) might just grow up in the same area their whole life(lives), and not really have an understanding of the way life might be outside that certain area.
In my case I moved when I was thirteen years old from California to Virginia. At first it was something I was not looking forward to. In my eyes I would have to leave my friends and the place I had called home for all my life. Little did I understand how different the area was going to be. The new neighborhood we moved to was peaceful in comparison to our old one and the people were nicer as well. The houses here looked a lot better and it seemed that there was a sense of security. I began to see the differences and understand why we had moved.
Once school started, everything that I had been used to changed. No more uniforms or the feeling of an unsafe environment. The kids here acted different they saw things in a distinct manner and had an altered understanding of life. This is the point in which I learned to be more open to different ideas or perceptions, because people from different places were unique in their own ways and understandings. Each grew in a different environment which influenced the type of person they are. That is why I feel that people can learn from one another.
As I moved on to high school life for me changed even more once again I went through a phase in which I began to understand myself even more. In high school I experienced many new things, made new friends joined sports, clubs, and started doing a lot more with my time. Each teaching me new things and adding to my personality. I decided to wrestle and play lacrosse, both which I learned are tough sports. My first year I can honestly say I was terrible at both. But for some reason I was determined not to give up on them. As time went on each year I learned being determined to do your best really was great motivation. By my junior year I had truly progressed a lot and now I was starting for my lacrosse team, and had made captain for the wrestling team. Sports showed me that the outcome of hard work truly is worth while when they are for the right cause. Academics in high school were different. I had never really had trouble in school since I always did what I was required to. But I learned that since the workload had been increased being organized made life much simpler, and not procrastinating till the end. People see other people with good education and they give them respect that is what I hope to get out of finishing high school and going to college. The knowledge and respect I will use in life to live with. It was easy to make friends I did not judge anyone by the way they looked or appeared to act. I would just treat people the way I wanted to be treated with respect. That seems to be a good way of interacting with people always show everyone respect and if for any reason you do not like them just be mature about it and still show them respect.
Now I know that change is not always bad and I consider it to be progressive. I hope to go to college so that I continue to learn something different every day and grow as an individual as I keep getting older.
