Please Help me OOS Students!!!!

<p>I am an OOS student and i am getting REALLY scared about paying for college...my parents are telling me to go to a CC for 2 years and then transfer to Berkeley, but i dont want to. I love berkeley sooo much. My question is: is there anyway to establish residency after living here for a certain amount of time? How long does it take?? I have a distant relative that has lived here for a long time....would that help me establish CA residency? I really dont want to get this relative involved, but i will if its my last option. </p>

<p>Please help me guys..i might not eb able to go to Berkeley for another two years if cant get something done!</p>

Im supposed to be coming up for Fall 2006, but my dad is really telling me to go to a CC for another 2 years. The orientation for the CC is in just a couple of days and i am getting really scared about going there. I love Cal too much. Please help.</p>

<p>It takes 2 years now, so its pretty much impossible too.</p>

<p>Your dad is right, Berkeley is certainly not worth 40k out of state. If you got into Berkeley OOS you have the stats to get into better schools.</p>

<p>I suggest you do what your dad said, take a break year and reapply to better schools, or plan very thoroghly and graduate from Berkeley quickly.</p>
