Please help me out!

So, I've been accepted to several universities and my intended major is Industrial Engineering.

I'm confused between namely 2 universities, Penn State and Virginia Tech.
Ranking wise both the universities are similar. I would like to know your opinion.

The key factors that matter to me a lot

[ul]
[]Education
[]Internships
[]Feasibility to Transfer
[]Social Life
[li]Job Opportunities in Industrial Engineering (Most Important)[/li][/ul]

Also, I'm an international student. If that's of any use to you regarding job opportunities.

Bump it up.

You need to ask the career center at each of these universities about long-term career placement for international students both in the US and in other countries. Depending on the major you graduate with you will have between one year and two years of OPT visa extension after graduation. If you have not found an employer who can negotiate an H-1B visa for you before your OPT ends, you will have to leave. No degree guarantees long-term employment here.

Why are you thinking of transferring? What are your plans if you do apply for transfer and aren’t accepted anywhere? Choose an institution that you would be happy to graduate from if your transfer plans don’t work out.

Both of these are fine institutions. You can safely flip a coin.

Thank you so much for your advice.

I will contact both of these schools regarding the long term placements for international students. But I’m not sure if they provide students with that information. Do you think Penn State’s strong alumni connection will help an international student with job placements?

I’m thinking of transferring to a better university. I know both these universities are really great and I’ll have no regrets graduating from either. But, I always wanted to give certain universities a shot since I did not have an option to do so this year.

Thank you again.
