Please help me pick a dorm!

I've been sifting through all the dorm profiles this morning and I'm a bit overwhelmed.
Here's a little about me:

INFP - introverted, fiercely interested in art, music, poetry, songwriting.

I've lived in Chicago for a year. Graduated in 2011. I've been in my own apartment with 2 roommates I never see because I work 60+ hours a week.

I have a quick sense of humor and I do enjoy being with people, but I really value my alone time and would be devastated if I couldn't just get away from people every once in a while. I also do a lot of recording and guitar-playing, reading, writing, painting and whatnot, so I wouldn't want to be a bother to a roommate.

That said, I'm not sure if a single-room would be the best idea as far as social life goes - I tend to lock myself in my room for days if I have the chance, and I tend to avoid social situations like the plague unless I'm forced into them (courtesy of my introverted tendencies). I'm really looking to meet some wonderful like-minded people, and if sharing a room with someone would be socially beneficial and ultimately force me to socialize, then I wouldn't mind.

Private bathrooms preferred, not crucial.

Proximity to dining halls and whatnot is pretty critical (I'm not fond of plowing through snow to 9am classes. This mild winter spoiled me).

It looks like most of the houses are pretty geared towards sporty people - are there any in particular for the more artsy kids?? Any input from a UChicago student would be much appreciated. (:

And jysk, my top two are currently Burton-Judson and Breck. (Can’t edit OP for some reason.)

Few things to consider:
Breck is not close to a dining hall. I lived there, and absolutely loved the place, but if you want to be near the dining hall…not the best option. My favorite part about living in Breck was literally being 20 minutes from downtown. The metra stop 1/2 a block away, and you will be at the Art Institute in 20 minutes. You’re not getting that living at some of the more traditional dorms.

I personally loved living in a single. Go to bed when you want, get up when you want, etc. You also don’t have to stress about trying to find a place to get-away when you need it as your room is your own. Personally, I wouldn’t have had it another way…You won’t be completely forced to be social, but there are tons of opportunities to meet your fellow housemates. Go on house trips, join an RSO, and you’ll be set. Also, if you sit at your house table to eat, you’ll get to know people that way as well.

Another thing to consider is proximity to the Logan Arts Center if you are into art. B-J is pretty close which might be a big plus for you.

If you have more questions, feel free to send me a pm.
