I am applying for Georgetown University (Georgetown college specific) for Class of 2021.
SATs/ACTs : Not the greatest but tried my absolute best.
SAT II: Was not financially stable enough to afford 3 SAT subject tests…(barely made it to school because of scholarship & financial aid) and did not qualify for fee wavier.
GPA : 3.5 without dual enrollment addition with dual enrollment addition it is 3.7~3.9
I am expected to complete around 24 ~ 30 college credits through dual enrollment.
course loads : Honors American gov & economics, Trig & Pre-calc, Honors English 12, Marine bio, pre-engineering , Intro to national security (SE 101 college), American Military History (HI 203b college) and will a have additional 200 level courses next semester for college courses. (started taking them since junior year).
Major awards : Gold star, silver star, Center of Advancement of Security Studies Award, Anthony Wayne Legion Guard,
Essays I would say at least according to the college level professors who proof read…it was unique and different I would say. (I have a clear dream,goal and I know what I want to do in life with the specific course of study that Georgetown offers).
Interview: Impressed the interviewer/Seems like it went very well.
Recommendation letters: From 2 of my well known my college professors (all doctor levels for the majors I am interested in at college).
Counselor Rec : Shouldn’t be my biggest problem.
Additional Rec: My current math teacher who is also a masters degree professor at Drexal University.
I am currently a soldier in the United States Army Reserve.
For Extra curriculars : VFMAC Regimental Band : Drum Major, Senior Member of the VFMAC Regimental Choir, Treasurer of VFMC Cyber security club (only high school student in college club),President of the Film club, President of Korean club, Vice president of Kendo club, Leader of VFMAC Student ambassadors and varieties of leadership positions (rank) of Valley forge military academy corps of cadets.
For summer activities : I can’t really say this is a official activities…but…I start doing my own research projects (scholarly level) but how do I prove it and make it official ?.
Job experience or service : Does the Army Reserve count ? (current status not legal to work in the U.S exemption for the government due to F-1).
My school is located in Pennsylvania.
I am from South Korea but I am being naturalized through service in the United States Army.
I am fluent to Korean & English (never been in a ESL or ELL course).
Ethnicity: Asian.
School type is : private military academy.
Income Bracket:My parents make around 800,000 a year but most of them goes to my tuition and payment of debt so don’t really have a lot left.
Hooks : Does first generation U.S education/college counts ?.
Please help me out a bit :).
