I have gone through naviance and most of the schools websites to find the stats for test scores, GPA requirement, etc. I cannot find the stats for only engineering students, but I have found the college averages. For most of the schools, at the average, and for the rest I am in between the average and the 75th percent of students. Now that being said, these averages are for the whole school in general and I know engineering programs are usually more selective. Is there any way that I can find out the stats for only engineering students? Or is there some guideline I should go by to ensure I am picking schools that fall under the safety, match, and reach categories.

For any college that admits by school, assume the engineering students are above the college average, unless it’s primarily an engineering school. For colleges that admit to the whole college, it doesn’t make any difference, just compare your stats to the college as a whole.

I would assume that if you are in the 50-75th percentile range for most of the schools, you’re a good candidate.

Depends on the school. The difference between engineering and others could be big (Illinois) to small/nonexistant (most Ivies) to even the reverse (Columbia College is evidently harder to get in to than SEAS).

http://profiles.asee.org/ might help you. However, new enrolled frosh profile data is limited to test scores.

The only school STATS for the College of Engineering that I was able to find was for Cal Poly SLO. No specifics for each engineering major but an overall accepted GPA/SAT & ACT scores. My younger son is majoring in CS and I never did find specific STATS from any college during my year long search. I did find some information about EI (Eligibility Index cutoffs) for San Jose State. They are published yearly and breakout the STATS by major.

Here are the SJSU admission thresholds by major:
