principles of biology
general chemistry
expository writing
introduction to political theory

i'm afraid that two science courses could take too much of my time but i want to major in biology and try to finish the required premed course as early as possible. is this too intensive for a first year student?

or should choose this combination:

principles of biology
introduction to political theory
expository writing
calculus

i'm going to hunter cuny. i know it's pretty bad. part of the reason is i've just been in this country for 3 years. and my english still sucks. so taking two science course and two intensive writing course probably be to hard for me. i think i should stick with my second option.

You do need to check to make sure that you'll be able to take enough chemistry. Genchem is often a yearlong sequence followed by organic, another yearlong sequence. If you don't take genchem early, then are you planning to delay organic by a year, too?

I agree with Bluedevil, you should take (at the very least) the first chemistry course sequence your first year. Biology isn't as important your first year because only one year is required for medical school, but since general chemistry is a prerequisite for orgo, you should take genchem. Other than that, it looks like you have some good courses lined up. English and behavioral sciences are smart choices and look good for medical schools.
