SAT 2150, SAT 2250, GPA 3.5, but I have a C and a D in 10th grade. I've already been rejected by UIUC, UNC-CP, UVA and UCD, do I even get to go to college this fall????

yes! plenty of schools would want you. just keep your options open.

Well, it’s too late to do anything now (assuming you’ve already sent out all of your applications). What were your safety schools?

My safety schools are UWM, PSU and BU…I have no offer in hand now and I’m very nervous…Are there any school that I can apply in April?

Does GPA really matters so much more than SAT? I’m very depressed by the rejections…!

Common App website has a search tool that lets you find schools still accepting applications.

Got this instruction from elsewhere: Common Application member institutions still open to new applicants may be found by going to the Common App website, scrolling down Member Colleges & Universities, and clicking College Search. Indicate that you’re looking for First Year and Fall 2013, and complete the deadline box according to your interest (for example, 03/30/2013). The list is very long indeed.

I think you’ll be OK. Last year, my kid had similar SATs and a slightly higher GPA, but weak ECs. He got into UWM and a few other places. But it wouldn’t hurt to apply somewhere else if you can find a good option. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! Does that mean that as long as i keep going down the list i can eventually get to go to college?

I’m really hoping that UWM, PSU, and BU will accept me…Maybe i should keep on applying to some other schools, just in case?

What is your home state? Have you applied to anyplace there? What is your major? How much can you pay?

Most community colleges will allow students to enroll until the first day if class, so yes you certainly can get in somewhere. However, looking at what you consider to be “safeties”, you appear to be only considering a specific type of university. Many other large public universities have rolling admissions. Those would be worth hunting down.

Your GPA and exam scores would have qualified you fir serious merit based aid at U of Alabama, and U of Alabama Huntsville. Pick up the phone. Call them see if they have any money left for this fall.

I’m an international student…I guess i’ll wait until all decisions have been made and decide whether to apply to a few more…what do you mean by certain types of schools? I just thought they’d suit me…Alabama’s a good option, thanks!

Your list is big public universities. That’s OK. However you need to know that there are no safeties foe international students in the US (even those students who are full pay) EXCEPT for the very short list of institutions that guarantee admissions based on exam scores & GPA to internationals as well as to US applicants (such as U of AL). Your safeties are in your own country. Everything else you have listed here is at best a low reach or a match.

That hurts.
