So I recently talked a family friend that had a gpa of around 3.2 in HS and went to Navy for 4 years. After 4 years he went to a community college for one year and got a gpa of 3.9 with Honor classes and got into Columbia. I heard that Columbia has a very generous look on veterans is this true? Also if I went the same route as him would I be able to attend Columbia as well? Please tell your opinions on my chances to attend
I think you would have to apply to the Columbia School of General Studies, which was created for non-traditional applicants. They have about a ~30% acceptance rate I believe. You would, however, be ineligible to apply for admission at Columbia College.
He wowed Columbia GS with his story. Methinks you’re a little too fixated on the “columbia” name than is healthy
