Please help my friend...because I can't!

One of my close friends was rejected from Ross (for their BBA program). However, he still really wants to do business and is still thinking about getting a MBA, obviously in the future. He wanted to know if he majored in econ or a non-business major and worked in non-profit for a few years (which he wanted to do after graduation), could he then go back to school and get a MBA and then get a job in consulting?

Any help would be appreciated because I had no idea what to tell him! Thanks!

simply put, yes.

the work experience will be incredibly important in gaining admission to a top MBA program, but truthfully it doesn’t matter a whole lot what you major it. however, in order to get a decent job or decent experience out of undergrad, you have to network/have good grades/good ECs/etc. in order for that to happen. i’m barely knowledgeable on this kind of stuff and this is purely based on stuff i’ve read, but there are a TON of threads about this on the business forums, the MBA forums and the investment banking forums, as well as many of the threads concerning Ross on this forum

YA, I thought pretty much any major can go an get an MBA.
