I’ve got some ideas on each choices by reading old threads but the info is quite old. I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me more recent info. I am a male incoming freshman.

If there are more choices besides the above, feel free to add. Thanks for your help!
Pros: Fantastic location, newly renovated, has its own dining hall, views of the Golden Gate, going to class is all downhill, has its own song that the Cal band plays after football games (at least I hope they still do that)
Cons: More expensive, coming back from class is all uphill
Input based on personal observations/feedback from D:
Unit 1:
-Pro: 1 block from campus; easy access to stores and many restaurants
-Con: close to many frat houses (they are LOUD); Crossroads dining hall (aka Croads)
Unit 2:
-Pro: 3 blocks from campus; easy access to stores and many restaurants
-Con: closer to Peoples’ Park; Croads
Unit 3:
-Pro: 1 block from campus; closer to main drag Telegraph (stores and restaurants); closer to health center than 1 and 2; Cafe 3 supposedly slightly better
-Con: right near construction of new dorms - may be noisy (I don’t know)
Clark Kerr Campus:
-Pro: popular with athletes; food is supposedly better
-Con: not close to campus - 10-15 minute walk - may feel isolated a bit out there - surrounded by residential (vs. shops and restaurants)
Foothill:
-Pro: popular with engineers; dining hall food seems to be somewhat better than Croads (lobster rolls!)
-Con: called “Virgin Ski Lodge” for a reason
