<p>hey bushbunnie , listen i’ll try to help you with two of your questions. number 2, in the post-comma phrase there : the remarkable breakthroughs in gene research may lead to dramatic changes in medical treatment , how : BY MAKING. now if you notice , this is the correct joining word. let’s take a down-to-earth example : the tutors in west-town alley make a hell-alot of money by their innovative techniques. you see , it’s all about finding the correct word that connects. and the choice (c) corrects the ambiguous pronoun case found in choices a,b and d. what <em>they refers to?</em> . choice (c) uses <em>it</em> , which correctly refers to medical treatment.
number 3: i think it has to do with wordiness, c’mon. but still not sure.

<p>Well in the original sentence it now says that Jupiter is leading scientists to wonder.
After the comma you allways want a reference to the correct subject that makes sense, so in this case the development is leading scientsts to wonder and not Jupiter.</p>

<p>I’m not sure why A is wrong, I think its because its more passive than B, but a general rule, when ever you see being, it is wrong (not 100% of the times, but like 97% from what I encountered) so allways be alert, if you have something that sounds any better and doesn’t use being, then choose it.</p>
