PLease Help!!! Should I go to University of Colorado Boulder or Tulane?

Last year I visited Boulder and absolutely fell in love with the school, but Tulane is harder to get into and provides a better education. While I know I would be happier at Boulder I feel like I should go to Tulane based on the education experience. What do you think? Please help!

Have you been accepted to both of these schools?

I don’t think it’s necessarily true that Tulane provides a better education. That’s subjective - just because it’s harder to get into doesn’t mean it does. If you love Boulder and you’d be happier there (and your family can afford it), you should go there. Prestige/selectivity isn’t everything.

Yeah i was accepted to both. Thanks so much for your input!

I’m also worried about the reputation of both.

What is your home state?

what did you decide? Why are you worried about the reputation of both? Tulane will be more recognized in the South and Boulder in the West I expect.

I think it’s better to go to school in the region you want to live after college if you aren’t looking at working for a major corporation or specific industry known to recruit certain schools. Or choose location for school because you want to experience something different.

I think both schools have national reputations, so I wouldn’t worry about that.

If you “know you would be happier at Boulder” go to Boulder! The two schools are in very different settings…New Orleans and Boulder are not comparable locales. Both schools offer plenty of social activities, and both offer opportunities to grow, thrive and succeed if you are motivated. But their physical and cultural surroundings are quite different…think about what appeals to you most. If you haven’t visited both, try to do so.
