Please help, taking chem and reporting to Med School!!!

Hi, i'm an incoming freshman, class of 2009, and I will be going to U of Rochester next year. I'm also going to pursue a Premed track. My question is that if i were to hypothetically take a chem class this summer in a summer session at a local college in preparation, and take that same chem class next year at u of r, will i have to report the fact that i took that chem class at the local college to the med school? To the college itself even? Will it go on any transcript? I just want to take this summer course for assurance of outstanding grades and i have to take both bio and chem next year, and i dont want it to overloading. I'd probably do well at u of r since i will take this preperatory course, but i dont want to be pressured by doing well over the summer in the prep course. Please help! hahah Thanks in advance

I don't think so, but you might want to check with Rochester. I know at Rice, you wouldn't have to.

what about for med schools, thats my main worry, i can tell rochester even myself and tell them : yeah i took at a different school Chem1 , so give me a good advanced course so i thoroughly learn the principles of chem, but for med schools, i dont want them to see such a weakness in that i took chem twice and that is the reason i have outstanding grades.

I don't see why you won't have to report it. One of my friends at Cornell is planning on taking a physics summer class where she lives (Miami). She's obviously going to have to report the class and the grade she recieves. Summer school does count! I think you should also check with your school. Your undergrad institution may not allow u to retake the same class that you already took at another college.

yea but i mean, it's what i want to take, its none of anyone's business if i take a class at another school or not is it? like this is before i'm actually into a college so cant there be anyway i keep this a secret? And i'm paying money for college, i should be able to choose whatever courses i want to take at whatever level i want to start at.

It would be profoundly dishonest, but you would probably get away with it. Rochester might not let students repeat courses like this, but if they don't know, they can't stop you. You could always take the course over the summer under an alias.

The real question is what you are going to do when you are in medical school, you have a full load of tough science courses, and no summer in which to take the hardest ones. You will be surrounded by students who got good grades in their science courses the first time around. So could this strategy result in getting in over your head? Perhaps if you cannot get good enough grades to get into med school doing it the normal way, then medical school may not be for you.

An alias? lol Come on, isn't that a bit extreme?

hahha
Reuters- Rutgers: New Jersey"Tonight, on primetime, we will go into the premed student who allegedly stole 10,000 dollars worth of knowledge from his local college." ..."i just wanted to...excel in preperation for premed...i never thought an alias would hurt anybody!" He was report saying.
