the whole point of cancelletion is so people who do feel they didnt do as well as they wanted after taking the test can have the opportunity to CANCEL, and yes i know how i did, its ranging from 1340-1390 guarenteed...i kno how i test on sats, i took 8 practice tests, and my range was from 1350-1410...and for jan 22nd i had left 1-2 more blank and the curve in my opinion is included with my predicted range...and this has absolutely nothing to do with "graduate school tests," i dun need the sarcasm..all im asking for is advice and reasoning to your advice...its a consequential decision and i would like to know the pros v cons..

20 people said not to cancel veruss 1 person who said to cancel.

You pick. I was going to cancel a year ago because I thought I was going to get a 1200. I ended up getting a 1400.

don't cancel it.

i left 15 blank! lol, that says everything right there man, i appreciate the optimism, but isnt the harsh truth that i already know i got 3 math wrong and 4 verbal wrong, that brings me down to scratching 1400...this of course with a generous curve, and i dun even know about the other questions on the test...u c what im saying?

15 blank including the experimental?

yes 15 blank including the experimental, i left 3 blank in the experimental, so its actually 12 blank all together, 4 math 8 verbal, and i kno i got 3-4 math wrong all ready...careless mistakes, as well as 3-4 wrong verbal, mainly analogies, and these are just what i kno so far..using the scale i showed you that puts me at about 1380 AT BEST..

4 math wrong can be like a 680-730

8 verbal is like a 710-750

The point is, there IS NO REASON TO CANCEL. Typically only your highest SAT/ACT score appears on the transcript, and even if there are other scores colleges take the highest one.

cancel.

.

" 4 math wrong can be like a 680-730

8 verbal is like a 710-750 "

Dude, your calculations are totally off, here ill give u an example, the raw score for math can highest be 60, of which i skipped 4, so now im down to 56, then i got 4 wrong so im down to 52, 52 is the amount i got correct, NOW i have to subtract 1/4 point for every one that i got wrong, so thats 1 point, then im down to 51...if you check up on the scale i gave you, a 51 is like 680? As for the verbal, highest raw score is 78, from there subtract the 8 i skipped, im down to 70, then i got 4-5 wrong, im down to 65/66, then i have to subtract 1/4 point for every one i got wrong, so again 1 point lets say, so then im down to 64/65 points, which is again 680/670...now do you see where im getting that my best case scenerio is like 1370 lol...and thats if EVERYTHING ELSE ON THE TEST I ASSUME I GOT RIGHT...

whats wrong with 1370? Its very good.

I honestly wish that the SAT couldn't be prepped for, so that you could really tell who was smart and who wasn't. If this happened you'd realize that people from 1000-1200 are "average" (i use this term loosely), 1200-1300 (above average, but lazy/not focused/w/e)), 1300 and above very smart. At that point there's not distinction in intelligence really.

A 1380 versus a 1500 isn't that big. They're both very good.

i totally and utterly understand what you are saying, the only thing is this is the first time iv ever taken it, i still have to attend for the new sats most likely 2 times, so that 1380 isn't even what my potential is u kno what i mean? i took this old sat just for fun, like i just thought that if something went wrong with the new i wanted an old one to back me up, i just took it lol, no prep or anything

bump..........

alright guys...im cancelling...gonna start a new slate with the new sats =)
