<p>I'm just looking for feedback, constructive criticism, etc. Grammatical help is greatly appreciated as well. This is for the supplement to Colorado College.</p>
<p>Prompt: "How did you learn about Colorado College and why do you wish to attend?"</p>
<p>When I look at Colorado College I am drawn in by everything, the beautiful mountains surrounding the school, the diverse student body, the renowned programs, each aspect of the school catches my attention. But what has especially stood out to me since I first learned about the school, is its tight knit community and intimate classes.
Since ending middle school and seeing all my friends go off to their respective high schools, I had always wished I had the opportunity to attend the small secluded private school on the east end of our valley. I longed for the class camping trips, small discussion groups, and campus unity that the school embodied, but to my dad it was never an option financially. I managed to make the most of my public school experience, by taking those AP classes offered. The classes surrounded me with peers who were similarly motivated, and gave me the discussions I wanted, but in my heart it was never the same.
Now moving on from high school, the choice is open to me what my next step will be, not my parents. I want to attend Colorado College because its everything Ive always wanted in a school. The Block Plan provides a unique unit of study where I will be able to fully indulge myself in the study of American government, a course on social justice, or whatever class I find myself in. The depth to which I can commit myself to a subject over those three weeks excites me almost as much as do the discussions I will have with my peers who share my passion for academia. What also attracts me to Colorado College is not only the atmosphere inside the classroom, but the student life outside of it as well. I am excited to get involved in intramural sports, spend my block breaks camping with my peers, and simply engage in passionate conversations around the dinner table.
Having had a minute taste of Colorado College life through the experiences of friends who attend, I am anxious for my visit next month so I can see for myself all of the wonders that have been passed on to me through their stories and so I can reaffirm my fervor to attend.</p>
