Please Help!

Alright I am trying to do some calculations to see are round-a-bout amount of money I should have to pay. So I went to UCF's Net Price Calculator and this is what came up:

Academic Year: 2011-12
Estimated tuition and fees $4,518
+ Estimated room and board charges
(Includes rooming accommodations and meals)
$8,574
+ Estimated cost of books and supplies $924
+ Estimated other expenses
(Personal expenses, transportation, etc.) $1,800

Estimated total cost of attendance: $15,816
- Estimated total grant aid:
(Includes both merit and need based grant and scholarship aid from Federal, State, or Local Governments, or the Institution)
$9,074

Estimated Net Price After Grants and Scholarships: $6,742

Does the estimated total grant aid include bright futures and Fasfa because with my EFC being zero I would qualify for the Pell Grant of $5500. Also I am trying to get the Fl Academic Scholarship through Bright Futures. In addition, I have about a $12,000 scholarship that is tuition only.

Can anyone help explain this to me?

(I plan on living in a dorm)

We’ll, it doesn’t spell it out. We know it’s using older data, Tuition is closer to $6,200 (4,500 was back in 2009-2010). Other than that, it’s made up of Pell Grants, Bright Futures and other financial/merit Institutional grants or scholarships (all from around 2010). The Tuition is higher now, but so is Bright futures, Pell Grants, etc.

It really is an estimate, based on averages. You may want to use the projected 2013-14 cost.

[Student Financial Assistance, UCF](http://finaid.ucf.edu/applying/app_costs.html)

Then subtract Pell, Bright Futures and any scholarships. If UCF offers any additional financial aid, that should show up by your final Award notifications, which are mailed to first time UCF students after March 15th.

Afterword’s, you’ll have the option of taking student loans and/or work study.

Good Luck!
