Please judge my chances URGENT!!!!!

Hi all,

I am an International student, currently studying 12th Grade in the United Arab Emirates in a school which follows Indian curriculum CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).

I just wanted to know what my chances were for getting into GWU for Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

I dont have GPA grading in my school. The grading is purely based on marks obtained - :
9th - 85% (this could be approx 3.7+ GPA coz i got A's in all my subjects)
10th - 90% (this could be approx 3.7+ GPA coz i got A's in all my subjects)
11th - 80% (this could be around 3.2-3.4 coz i got few A's and few B's)

If my school had GPA system then my grades MIGHT be as follows:
9th - 3.7+/4.0 (coz i got A's in all my subjects)
10th - 3.7+/4.0(coz i got A's in all my subjects))
11th - 3.2 - 3.4 (coz i got A's and a few B's in my subjects)

I had also recieved a half-fee scholarship in grade 11.

ACTIVITIES :
I have been selected to attend the Global Young Leaders’ Conference (GYLC) in Washington/New York this year.
Swimming
Singing
Made Robot for science exhibition
Created a presentation on the periodic table
Helped the team in coming 3rd in an inter-school robot competition
Part of the school Anti-Smoking Committee
I have been learning Indian Carnatic Music vocal for over 10 years and have give a 2 and half hour concert. I have also been learning Carnatic Music violin for over 3 years.

SAT SCORES:
MATH - 670
CR - 600

Planning to give it again to improve my score ( hopefully around 1350).

Going to give SAT II's in November. Will get above 750 in maths, physics and chemistry.

Teacher Recommendations will be really good. Not sure what the school counsellor will write (but got info from previous school mates in US universities that we usually get really good recs).

Is there any way that i could get an aid as the fee is too high for me to pay.

I also wanted to know whether their Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering program was a single degree or double degree because if it was a single degree then i thought of doing a M&A Engineering with Electrical&Computer Engineering or Computer Science

Will appreciate all responses. good as well as bad.

Thanks all.

bump bump

Is there nobody?

you're an international student, enough said.

haha jk. the robot thing sounds good, you should play that up in an essay. sounds like you have excellent chances,, apply!

What about any kind of financial aid or scholarship? or honors program.

bump bump -----

most schools suck at giving financial aid to international students.

Try to get merit based scholarships, I think those are given to Internationals more.

Email all the schools you're thinking of applying to and ask wheather or not they give fin aid to international students.

Need-based federal financial aid is not offered to international students. International students are eligible for both merit-based aid and the honors program. Scholarships and admissions into the honors program are not offered concurrently (just because you get one doesn't meet you get the other). There is no way to accurately guage with what numbers guarantees merit-based aid or the honors program. It changes year-to-year.

I don't think you will get the honors program.
You have a good shot at admission though.
Applying early decision will help your chances.
