Please offer any advice you can.

I will be a freshman at Wright State University in the fall. It wasn't my first choice. Not even close. I do regret this decision but it is to late to do anything. However I am only going to be there for a year because the only reason I decided for here is because I use this year as leverage to transfer out to a bigger and better school for my sophomore (or possibly earlier?). I really want to be at Ohio State the next year, so that will be my goal. I didnt get in to OSU the first time around, because I honestly didnt have the best grades in HS. I had a 3.1, 25 ACT, and a 1560 SAT. So then i'm wondering. When would be the best time to apply? If you applied early in the year would they just look at your HS transcripts again, or look at whatever grades you have so far? Thank you so much, I really value your help

If you didn’t get in the first time around, you are going to need AT LEAST a semester so you have some college level grades for the admissions committee. I would certainly wait a semester before taking any transfer action. I understand that Wright State might not be your number one choice, but please don’t make the mistake of going into your freshman year with the preconception of gloom and doom. Whether or not Wright State is where you want to be, you’re there - so do what you can to try and enjoy it, and most importantly, aim for a 3.5 or higher. If after a semester you have something new to show the adcom, I would certainly suggest applying for Fall of 2011. At that point, yes, I’d recommend applying as EARLY as possible after fall grades are posted.

I’m also living on campus too, which might be a questionable decision since it is a commuter school.
