THANK YOU:D

sorry, had to make sure this was at the top of the page...hehe

Unfortunately, it's going to be very difficult for you to get into any of those schools. Your best shots are:

George Washington
American University
Boston College
NYU

I don't think you have a realistic chance of admission to any other schools.

I'd say pretty much all of the schools you have listed are big stretches.

fair enough...thanks

anyone else?

I agree with phuriku.

Even in those 3 schools, your chances are low (less than 15%). As for the others, your chances are near 0.

Let's be honest: He has about 3% chance at each. I always feel better giving a number.

hmmm

these are the ones im probablly going to shoot at

-NYU
-GW
-Brown
-AU

please keep the comments coming:D

Saying excellent involvement in EC's is not enough.
Are you implying that you have a lot of ECs but they are fairly generic?
I'm sorry to say, but I think every school on here except GWU and American are reach/high reaches.

Jon, if admissions worked exactly like that it would be nice. Having even only a 3% shot at all the schools, statistically he would get into at least 1 of them 35% of the time. I don't think that is accurate. For schools like Princeton or Dartmouth I think we can pretty safely say 0% chance. He does have a long shot (though not nearly as bad as 3%) at some of the schools such as American University.

If your extracurriculars were really really impressive, those SAT scores are still going to hurt you a lot. You should consider taking the SAT again, its the one major aspect of your application you can improve upon quickly.

here are my ECs:Community hours are really rare in our country...no school offers help in doing that...but here are my activities

-Soccer Team(grade 9 and 10)
-Model United Nations(grades 9,10,11,12)
-Co-founded a school newspaper(grade 11) wasnt verrrrry successful
-Founded the Debate club this year(just started)
-Interviewed the girl's Volleyball team this year
-Im hosting the talent show

my essays are about
-Losing 56 lbs
-A mini business i started when i was 9 and managed to make around $600 in about a week

please keep in mind that im taking the SATIIs in January...no time for SATIs

Take the SAT 1 again even if you didn't study. Chances are your superscore will increase at least slightly

yea i know what you mean but the problem is...im a senior...its december...deadlines are in 15 days...taking the SATIIs in Jan...when am i supposed to take the SATIs?

It's unlikely you will be admitted to any, no offense. These are the likeliest:

George Washington
American University
Boston College

I would say the others are dream schools, the above are big reaches.

im sorry...no offence either...but i keep getting AU as a reach?...i thought it was more of a match...and i forgot to say that my uncle (who has the same last name) went to GW if it helps

THe AU average SAT score is over 1900 , your score is 1750. Your GPA is definately lower than their average too. Your extracurriculars would be average for AU. Seems like a reach

15% had h.s. GPA between 3.0 and 3.24
7% had h.s. GPA between 2.5 and 2.99
The rest were higher than 3.24, with the largest group, 33%, attaining a 3.75 or higher. Of course, course selection difficulty varies but...

Middle 50% of SAT scores were 1750-2050.

It is definitely not a match.

hmmm....our school sent a kid to MIT with a 3.6 and 1230/1600...another girl to Penn(full ride) with a 3.9 and 2000...if it helps hehe
