PLEASE PLEASE Chance an international transfer!

I'm a college student now in the Philippines. I'm applying as a transfer student for the fall semester. I only have one semester's worth of grades so I will need to send my SAT scores and high school grades. I am still taking the SATs on May 1 and my problem is that Syracuse is continuously accepting transfer students throughout the spring and summer but then only on a space-available basis. I'm targeting a major offered in Newhouse and I know that they will only evaluate my application once all my requirements have been sent. What are my chances?

Yeah, I know my college QPI sucks like anything but I was hoping my okay HS grades, awesomse extra curriculars and good recommendations would make up for it. Also, the fact that i'm from the Philippines (meaning i'll be paying full) will help. (and if theyre trying to diversify)

Your GPA is way to low for the majority of these schools. You should add some non top 50/100 schools to your list just to be safe. If your SAT is amazing (+2250) then you have a much better shot at all of them, but your EC’s are not really anything incredible enough to make up for a high school average of a low B/ high C (many schools convert this a little differently) and a college average of a C/ low C.

Have you taken any standardized testing yet?

Thanks! I’m really crossing my fingers for Syracuse though. I dont really love all of these schools. Would you recommend any other good ones (that are reachable or safeties at least) in the east coast? (That offers a good public communications program)

My SATs are still scheduled on May 1. Thats why I’m a bit scared for Syracuse. They have rolling admissions so by then, I might not have any slots left.

Oh! I forgot to add Umass Amherst to the list :)
