please, please check me out.

Hi Everyone,

I spend ridiculous amounts of time reading other threads to see what my chances are so I finally just decided to post my own.

I was wondering if you guys had an insight on what my chances are for the following schools:
Lehigh, Cornell, Villanova, Gettysburg, University of Maryland College Park.

I am not going to send my SATs to any of these schools, because I don't think that they require it.

They require my high and college transcripts, recommendations, and an essay.

However, my current college gpa is a 3.92, and my high school gpa was a 2.72.

I will use the essay to explain why my high school gpa was so low because of financial circumstances. I write very good essays or so I am told.

I am a Jamaican African-American male, first generation student, and I live in Pennsylvania.

My last semester's classes were:

Calculus--- A
Microbiology--- A
Marketing---- A
Psychology---- A
Speech/Com--- A

I hope to pursue a Computer Science degree in one of these colleges.

I have a large amount of extracurricular activities that show my interest in computer science, but particularly business.

Please let me know what my chances are, and include any information that can help me improve my chances.

Thanks

Seems great. Make sure they know that your high school grades are not accurate representations of yourself due to financial circumstances and that they should focus on your CC grades. If your ECs are as focused as you say they are you should have great chances at all these schools. Again a lot of these schools are great schools so don’t be disheartened by rejections from a few of them.

Thank you for swift reply! I hope mostly to get into lehigh. Do you think being an minority will help? Arent schools big on diversity?
