<p>UVA isn't that low, especially out of state, but Amherst shouldn't be a shocker at #2. Its a very hard school to get into that rejects valedictorians regularly. BU is significantly lowver than GW or Tufts. Here is what I think:</p>

<p>Snerry and Alexandre, the difference between Penn and Amherst is more a GPA/ SAT issue. Amherst is more focused on test scores while Penn is more focused on class rank. They are too close to call in my opinion (I am talking about Penn College not Wharton).</p>

<p>how about georgetown... anyone know of they tend to take into account SATs more than GPAs?</p>

<p>Georgetown seems to care abot both, but their numbers are lower than those two in both areas.</p>

<p>UVA is two-thirds in-state and the SAT averages for in-state are about 30-40 points lower than out-of-state. But, I still should have ranked UVA a little higher than I did in post #2. The OP is definitely out of state. I wonder if the admit rate or admissions standards for international students at the Public Ivys are different.</p>
