Through attending private elementary schools and private high schools in New York City my whole life, Ive acquired unique knowledge in the great facilities and classes offered. The variety of classes offered nurtured my interest in the arts and math. Not only were these schools gifted with devoted teachers, but also devoted students. Because of these, my knowledge increased within an environment that is both competitive and supportive. At the same time, my identity was shaped by these environments. As I interacted with students and teachers and learned about their own cultures and interests, I also discovered the beauty and richness of my own culture. Similar to these excellent private schools, UR offers a great learning environment. Using the knowledge and ideas developed and gained from my experiences at these schools, I will contribute to the excellence of URs classes and clubs. Furthermore, the uniqueness of my Chinese culture incorporated in the mix of New Yorkers cultures will enrich URs diversity.</li>

<p>I believe that a true college is one that not only nurtures book knowledge, but also intellectual curiosity, social diversity, and learning through hands-on experience. During my search for a true college, I came across UR. Through the information from my guidance counselor and URs website, I learned of URs diversity, 200 academic majors and student organizations, research programs, and freedom to choose courses of interest. I finally discovered the perfect fit for me. Not only will my appreciation of cultural and social differences grow, but my culture will also contribute to URs diversity. With 200 academic majors and 220 different student organizations along with the freedom to choose my courses, I will gain broad knowledge and experience in all my academic interests. Through research, Im able to both gain and contribute to these fields of learning. UR is the best fit for me. Not only will it educate me, but my knowledge gained from my experience at UR will allow me to contribute to the improvement of the larger community in the future.</p>
