• What makes the University of Rochester a good fit for you? In answering, identify your sources of information, including any conversations you've had with Rochester faculty, staff, students, or alumni.

My introduction to the University of Rochester started when a representative visited the school for a college night session. At first, I was skeptical on what the university has to offer to its students. However, after extensive research in the university’s website, I learned about the school’s standings in the field of engineering and science as well as constructing your very own research criteria, and instantly, all of my skepticism I had toward the university melted away. Soon, a local college fair was held, where I learn more about the insides of the university, about its close proximity to the city of Rochester and diverse student population. It seems that the more I discover about the university, the more I want to attend it.

• Rochester students represent many different points of view. Each student constructs an independent study and research plan. Describe what you will contribute to Rochester's diversity of ideas, experiences, and identities. If you can, incorporate a positive past experience where you chose your own learning path, or a negative experience where you wanted to exercise more independence.

When I was young, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, Juvenile Dermatomyositis, and throughout my childhood have been filled with nothing but pain and hardship. That was when I resolved myself to explore and study the field of biomedical engineering, to prevent such suffering from happening to anybody else. That was when I saw the opportunities that Rochester has in store, from its renowned research facilities and diverse student body.
Following the path that I have chosen for myself, I believe I would be able to contribute to Rochester’s community and diversity with my unique passion and determination. As well as becoming a open-minded contributing member of the community.

please, i’m really despeate here
