Hey everyone,

I am currently a junior at a competitive all girls independent school in Washington Dc. I would appreciate any feedback on my chances of acceptance to Lafayette!

Junior- All girls private school
School does not rank or do formal GPA's but as of last semester my average was around a 82 or 83 (i know it seems low compared to the 4.0's and 3.7's that are commonly posted but the overall "average" but i think that it is hard to compare public school gpa's which are often weighted with estimated averages from certain private schools- just my opinion, please do not take offense)

I took the ACT in february with ZERO preparation and scored a 28 (reading -33, 28 math, 26 writing, and 25 science) i begin a tutoring program for the ACT and hope to raise my composite score to around 30-32.

My school does not offer many AP classes- they only offer around 5 total although i will still take the english AP exam this june.
my courseload including my courses for next year amount to
4 years of math - algebra II, geo/trig, algebra III and Trig, AP stats
4 years of english
4 years of upper school french- unimpressive grades- french is no strong point
Sciences:
Biology- 9th
Physics -10th
Chemistry - 11th
Forensics/Med Lab Technology- 11th
AP Biology or AP enviromental science -12th

4 years of History - I will be taking AP Government next year- my school does not offer AP selection for other years

Extracurriculars:
I studied ballet very seriously for over 10 years (6-7 times a week) as well as attended several highly selective summer intensive programs (3 out of 4 summers in highschool - i do not plan to attend this summer). I chose to cut back on ballet this fall in order to focus on my academics. I am still involved in ballet though not nearly as much as before.

I am competing in my state's Distinguished Scholar Program for Dance and i hope to have a good recommendation from a former dance teacher

Volunteering:
I spent a week last spring volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans
I tutor once a week for under privileged children

I am almost 100% positive that i want to go into journalism and/or broadcast journalism

I know that this is long but i wanted to fully explain my situation and please leave me your opinions on my chances
