I have no idea what these schools are really looking for so...

And respond…

From what I understand, it is exceptionally hard to get full FA as an international student. You are also applying for a grade that often has the least amount of openings. Your scores are great as are your grades, and you have positions of leadership in your background. You have two stumbling blocks which you can’t control; one, you are competing against equally qualified other Asian students, and two, you are asking for full FA as an international.
Good luck to you. I am sure you would be a fine addition to either school.
zp

^agreed. It won’t hurt to try but do make a “B plan”.

Errr…whats plan B?

Gee,what happened to ‘need based’ fa?

“Plan B” is a slang term for an alternative course of action. In your case, Plan B could simply be applying to a few more boarding schools in hope of receiving adequate financial aid from at least one prep boarding school.
At some boarding schools, need based financial aid may not be available to international students who are not American citizens. If you are a U.S. citizen studying abroad, then you should be eligible for need based financial aid at all schools which offer financial assistance based on need.
Your stats are impressive & certainly make you a good candidate for admission to the best prep schools in America, which include Andover & Exeter.
Posters may be able to offer more tailored advice to you with respect to prep school selection if you furnish more information as to why you want to attend boarding school in the U.S. & whether or not you are an American citizen.

Openings for 11th grade are somewhat random at all schools. There are often a few spaces, but schools also will only take kids who will fit - which can mean much more than just having great grades/tests/ECs. Clearly, you have all that. But a boarding school admissions committee might wonder how well you will adapt to boarding school life, and whether your courses fit into their courses.
Financial aid is another question. Schools have a smaller amount of aid in general for overseas candidates. I don’t know why, so I can’t speak to that at all.

wahh, u make me look so bad… so academical

im such a bad azn

i wiouldnt be surprised if ur in

It is quite difficult to be admitted to Andover or Exeter as a junior even as a full paying well qualified applicant. You should apply, but keep alternative options open as both schools receive many applications showing equally impressive stats.
