PLEASE read this! Thanks!!

Okay, well originally I was planning on doing ED to Tufts. Unfortunately, I heard some negative things about that college, and now am unsure as to what to do. I have heard that Cornell, on the other hand, was loved by anyone who went there. Now I am looking at Cornell for ED, but to tell you the truth, I don't think my chances are that great, so I need a second opinion. I really want to become a doctor, so I guess I should be applying early to the Agriculture and Life Sciences place right? Anyway, here are my stats:

I have a 3.62 GPA unweighted, 3.82 weighted.

I have taken AP Physics B, AP Stat, AP Language, AP Spanish, AP US, and AP Biology. I am currently taking AP Psych, AP Lit, AP Macro, AP Physics C, AP Calc BC, and AP Chemistry. I got a 2170 on my SAT's and plan to retake in November.

I got an 800 on Bio SAT II, 720 on Math IC, and 720 on Chemistry. I am planning on taking SAT II Physics and Math IIC in October. As for EC's, I have been starting on varsity lacrosse since 10th grade, varsity basketball, cross country, and varsity football. I am in NHS, Science Olympiads, Math Olympiads, Diversity Club, WAC, and Chess Club. I have played the violin since 3rd grade. I have been accepted into the Columbia Science Honors Program.

In addition, I have volunteered at a local hospital for over 400 hours. I have also volunteered at a local library. Finally, this past summer I went down to New Orleans and helped out with Habitat for Humanity. If there is any other information that is necessary, please ask. Thanks. Oh yeah, I am also in training to become a certified EMT!

Oh, I almost forgot. I have been doing an internship at a hospital dealing with psychiatry. If all goes well, I will become a co-author of a medical journal. Not really sure how much weight that has, but I just thought I'd mention it. So...what are my chances, guys?

Cmon! Someone!

Many people really love Tufts. Where did you get the bad rumors from? Are you sure you believe them? Cornell is a very different school. How did you leap from Tufts to Cornell? One is in a major city and the other totally rural!! If anything, it seems more people don't enjoy Cornell!

Your SATs seem in range for both schools (just) and we'd need to know class rank to see if your GPA is. If they are, the schools would still be reaches.

I agree with suze. Tufts a bad school?--Ridiculous. The school is absolutely one of the best, and in a great location. Also, Tufts is almost as difficult as Cornell to get accepted at.

Your test scores are great, but your GPA is low for both schools--making you a reach. Good luck if you decide to apply, though;--but make sure you also apply to other schools where you are more likely to be accepted.

Haha, I never said it was a BAD school. I mean to say that one of my friends said he felt uncomfortable there. Anyway, I am a NY resident, not sure if that changes anything. I also was planning on applying ED to CALS or Tufts. Any other suggestions at colleges I should be looking at or chances at getting into these schools?

Well... your GPA is Kinda Low----any idea on your rank?

Umm...all I know is that our school does not rank. I'm pretty sure I'm in the top 10% though.

well that helps........ if you are in the top 10 % but I think the average at Tufts is top 5

Anybody else?
