<p>Intended major: Communication studies (UCLA, UCSD, & UCSB) and Media studies (UCB)</p>
<p>Currently attending a CSU</p>
<p>GPA: 3.49</p>
<p>Awards & Activites-
High School:
was on a nationally acclaimed speech & debate team, Head of publicity for the Invisible Children club, Girl's water polo team, volunteer at the local police department, Hope Connections, and over 100 hrs of community service</p>
<p>College:
Speech & Debate team (three gold metals), internship at a local political grassroots organization, and Dean's list both semesters last year</p>
<p>Hooks: Raised by a single mother and first generation American</p>
<p>Essay: Not a typical personal statement; it's creative and unique, but I'm not sure that's what they want. It had a lot of mixed reviews.</p>
<p>To my understanding, it is extremely difficult for a CSU student to transfer to a UC. In fact, CSU students get last priority. My gpa isn't outstanding, but it is above the required 3.0. CAL has been my dream school for a long time and I thought I should give it a shot. What are my chances?</p>
