please suggest schools..

Hello there all you happy people!
I'm currently in 8th grade, HomeSchooling ( Standford University High School for gifted students )and I'm planning to go boarding school.
I'm interested in Theoretical Physics, Astrophysics and some Molecule Biology.
I'm doing a research paper on Astrophysics , Research area is Observational Cosmology,
Large Scale Structure of the Universe , Galaxy Formation & Evolution and Extragalactic X-ray Astronomy.
All my extra curricular is about Science, Math and some Model U.N, sports, fine arts.

Amateur Golfer.
Ice hocky 3 years.
Piano 9 years.
Fine Arts 10 years ( tons of awards ).

oh, and I love to writing, got tons of awards about,,essay competition, science paper, public speaking and published research papers .

my course load :

-Literature
-American History
-Creative Writing (0.5 unit)
-Biology
-Algebra I
-Algebra II
-Geometry
-Trigonometry (0.5 unit)
-Pre-calculus
-Geology

= Straight A's
BUT the problem is I'm bad at History. REALLY hate History class.
I barely got A's in Literature and History.

So basically,

What are some of the best boarding high schools ( strong at Science and Math)?

Thank you.

Exeter >> Princeton, CalTech, MIT, Cambridge (England) are strong astronomy schools.

aww Thank you !!

I suggest you post your question on the parent’s forum. Lots of experienced folks there could advise about schools with top science programs. Best of luck!

St. Paul’s has its own observatory with three telescopes, including what I believe is the largest telescope in New England outside of Vassar. They are also in the process of building an $80 million dollar science and math building, which is scheduled to be ready for the fall of 2011.

St. Paul’s has 4 observatories. And it is the largest in New England. [Vassar’s is slightly larger that the largest SPS telescope, but they are in Poughkeepsie New York, not New England.] The new $50 million Math - Science Center (scheduled for September 2011) will also have a new solar observatory.

For more on astronomy at SPS go here: [St. Paul’s School Hawley Observatory](http://astro.sps.edu/) Some cool photos as well as course descriptions, history, professors etc. And you can always go well beyond the formal offerings if you have the ability. The large telescope has had software problems, but I am told it will be up shortly. Obviously being further north with a big campus also has an ambient light benefit.

Phillips Exeter is known to be the best at math and science. However, Phillips Andover is putting effort to strengthen its math&science while PEA math team is declining . I’m not sure about astronomy though.

Also, what do you mean by course load. Classes you have taken in middle school? Classes you are taking right now?

SPS  that is all (for the reasons stated above).

Holy cow. You are only in the 8th grade? I saw your profile and thought it worthy of a high school senior. You could probably get into any school you wished…this completely changes my view on home-schooled students; it appears that they are by far more advanced than public school ones.

The statistics bear that out as well. They also outperform many private school students as well, but I guess it all depends on WHY a family chooses to homeschool. For many families, it’s because of insufficient programs for advanced students at the local schools.

Brook: You told me you are a prep at Exeter. What you are saying is not adding up…

Good catch urbanflop. Possible ■■■■■? Here’s Brook’s post from 4/23:

and on another thread the same day with almost identical commentary ending with:
