Please Take A Look At My High School Plan

Hi I'm a sophomore from California.

A brief introduction about myself. I'm from China and I came to US two years ago, I'm currently a permanent U.S resident. Since I didn't know what to do, I took no honors class. Then I realized that Algebra 2 regular was too easy for me, so I applied for Algebra 2 honors.

In my freshmen year, I got straight As except for Art (B for each semester, which was kinda ridiculous).

Then I took pre-calculus in the summer (Got A+) and applied AP Calculus AB for my sophomore year. Right now as a sophomore, I'm taking honors Chemistry, honors World History, AP Calculus AB, regular English, and French one. I'm pretty confident about getting straight As this year but I know that's not enough. So I'm self-studying AP Calculus BC and AP Chemistry. I also made the school science olympiad team.

My plan for this year is to get 5s on 4 AP tests(Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, and Chinese :P), get 800s on SAT II Math and SAT II Chinese.

Next year, I'm going to take APUSH, AP Computer Science, AP Biology, and I will take Multi-Variable Calculus in a local college.

As you can see, English is my biggest problem. Right now I can get As in my regular English class. In the future, I will try to take honors English in my Junior year and AP English in my senior year.

My dream schools are Stanford, Berkeley, and UCLA. If I can follow my plan, what are my chances of getting into those colleges? Any suggestions?? Thank you for you time :)

Your academic aspirations are up-to-par for these schools if you get the targeted grades. Also, wouldn’t you need to take your SAT 1 too? I say over 2000 would give you a solid chance. Since you will be applying as international, competitive is really tough as these schools are oversubscribed with scholars around the world, especially for the UCs where they have a cap for international students. Academics alone may not be adequate to get you into these schools. You need extracurricular activities to secure your places in your dream schools.
Also, what is your intended major? You should start thinking and preparing for it.

a tip for comp sci, you gotta put all your soul to get a 5

Yup as said, If you don’t have a solid 2000+ especially since you are Asian, and you don’t have many EC’s, all schools mentioned are reaches. Academics can and will not carry you to those colleges. They need to see commitment to sports of clubs and then read your personal statement to check if you are a good candidate for their college. Academics is huge percentage of the admissions process, but there is more than just that.

Nice plan. The only thing is that you cannot take both the AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC exams in the same year. That means you should just take the BC exam.
