PLEASE!!! urgent matter! Penn or Brown!!!??

Hey guys,

Here are my schools so far. I am open to any suggestions about my list.

Penn or Brown!! i love them both, and am willing to apply early to either.
also, NYU, BostonU, Harvard....anything else??

I am interested in majoring in Business

Anyway, my stats are as follows:

GPA: 3.8 UW, 4.6ish W
Rank: Top 5% out of about 500, fairly competitive- not sure of exact rank
SATS: Not taken yet, will take practice course- I am guessing with practice tests around 2200.
I have taken the most rigorous courseload available

ECs:

US House of Representatives Page- Fall semester, Junior Year
JSA Summer School- Princeton- Comparative Govt, Speech Comm
JSA Summer School- Georgetown- Constitutional Law
Current volunteer intern at Congressman Fitzpatricks Local Office- have upwards of 35 to 40 hours done, with plans for much more this coming summer
Volunteer at various political campaigns in '04, cannot wait for '06 campaigns
NHS member
Member of Class Council (elected, same as president, except there are 5 of us)
Band: Marching (Drum major, section leader)
Jazz (in the competitive "A" band)
Captain- Academic Challenge Team- 2nd place freshman year, 1st place sophomore year
Golf Team
Given seats on TWO separate boards in my school district, one taking only 2 students every 4 years, and the other 3 students a year.

I think thats everything--umm, I think my biggest EC is that I was a Congressional Page- they accept 60 kids to do that every semester out of thousands of applicants.

So, please, I am not sure if I covered everything, so let me know if you need any additional information.

Thanks a lot guys!

You know what, you might make a REAL attractive candidate at Georgetown.

When did you take JSA Princeton? summer 2005?
I attended JSA Princeton 2005 last summer, took speech communications and foreign policy. Also opened up a new JSA chapter this year at my school.

Brown doesn't have a business school or major; it has business economics, but this is a different thing. Penn has Wharton.

hey im applying to JSA this year. is it real hard to be accepted?

With SAT scores around 2200, 3.8 GPA, and class rank in the top 5%, you have about a 15% to 20% chance of getting into UPenn or Brown. If you apply to Wharton, your chances are much lower. Your chance of getting into Harvard is less than 10%. At NYU and Boston U, on the other hand, you have a much better shot. Probably over 50% at both schools, though Stern can be nearly as tough as most Ivies.

if you're a junior, whats the urgent matter?

you have a really good shot....but its kinda too soon to say, because you have not taken the sats yet....and anything can happen...but best of luck

ok if i took the business econ concentration at Brown, would that prepare me for an MBA at a different school- possibly wharton?

I say find what best suits you, I'd have a hard time telling you what was best for you.

I don't know the preparation one needs for an MBA. I would check the MBA site on CC and what Wharton itself says. The business econ concentration seems to be basically economics. You can go to the course catalog and see for yourself if it is what you want to study in undergrad.
