Does anybody know where I can get a copy of DVDs that depict plebe summer for the class of 2009?

Well, unless things have changed, you will have several options...

They used to sell tapes (yes, I'm that old) of Plebe Summers immediately after the summer to the parents. You could also find them in the Midstore, but that wasn't common. Normally, the parents could order by mail (this was the days before the Web, of course.)

Hey! Just a thought, but if you contact the USNA PAO, they should be able to help you! :)

We got a pack from the parents club picnic the other day listing all of the options for the summer videos. It was done by Thornton studios I think. They will also personalize certain videos to either you or your company.

Go to http://plebesummer.com/dvds.asp for all the information and options.

That is for this year, but it should be the same people who did last years.

Don't you just love the internet? :D

Thornton Studios will introduce plebe parents to their plebe summer website where parents can access daily schedules/photos for each company. Parents can purchase photos during the summer and at the end of the summer Thornton DVDs are available. At the end of plebe year this company also sells DVDs of plebe year and Sea Trials. Warning: they can be very expensive if you buy a lot of pictures. Additionally, the USNA Alumni Association sends plebe families a complimentary DVD featuring highlights (only parents think they're highlights) of the summer. This is followed up with a request for a donation to the alumni association. When my plebe was home for Christmas I asked her if she would like to watch the plebe summer DVD. Judging her reaction, you would have thought I asked if she wanted to have all of her teeth pulled out without anesthesia.

We bought some of the Plebe Summer videos from Thornton and a couple of pictures. The two pictures that I bought were incredible and very nice memories of the Plebe Summer squad. They had terrific action photos and group pictures as well. The videos were specific to the company. My Mid watched a couple of them and had some very good laughs. I would expect that they will be much more enjoyable years from now when he looks back on things. In the summer of 2004, the academy also posted many pictures online that you could print from your computer. If you have the patience to sift through the many pictures posted, you may just find pictures of your own Waldo! The daily schedule from Thornton is interesting to refer to during the black hole of communication during Plebe Summer as it is nice to have a general idea of what they are up to.
