Wow...the difference between your unweighted and weighted GPA is huge! How does that happen?

And question...I though you can only be a member of NHS as a junior and senior...therefore, how can you be a four year member? Maybe that's just at my school...

I'm no expert, but your stats seem really good! Not sure about chances though.

My school does GPA as regular classes are 4 pts, Honors/Pre-AP are 5 pts, and AP classes are 6 pts. I have taken 9 AP classes and 9 Honors/Pre-AP classes, so thats how it gets up there. I was in National Junior Honor Society as a freshman and NHS as a soph, jr, and sr.

I'd say Match/Shaky Match. The fact that you're from OK definitely helps for regional diversity. The E.C's are impressive. However, keep in mind that USC doesn't give any weighted bonus points for honors/Pre-AP and the AP classes are weighted as 5 points rather than 6.

So...technically you are lying in your app. NJHS for 1 year. NHS for 3. Plus...you get inducted during sohpmore year, but you arent an active member until junior year.

No, we are active members in our sophomore year. Plus during freshman year, we are still involved with NHS. At our school, we are even required to do more volunteer work in NJHS than we are in NHS. It is still considered 4 years. Plus, I was an officier during my freshman year.

When asking for chances, you need to go by what the university uses to weight GPA, not by what your school does; schools have a gajillion different ways of doing it. USC weights on the 5-point scale.

It might be a match (GPA's a little low, but considering that you've taken quite a tough courseload and your ECs are pretty good, it should be a match).

Like the other's said, you might want to recalculate your GPA to see where you actually stand.

My school does it as Preap/AP classes - 5 points if you get an A, 4 if a B and so on. And regular classes start off at 4 points for an A, and so on.

I think that's how USC and other California school's calculate it.

However, your class rank is very good!

For your EC's, it seems very impressive, but the colleges won't be looking for a long list. Try and pick a few that you really feel proud of, and focus on those.

Nah, USC only weighs AP courses, not Pre-AP/Honors courses. The UC's weigh both.
