What happens if someone applies for PLME Early Decision but then is not accepted into PLME but are accepted into Brown? Do you HAVE to attend Brown even if rejected from PLME? Do you apply for PLME alone, or do you apply to Brown first and then PLME? Do you apply to PLME and that also counts as an application to Brown?
Confusing stuff.

I’m a junior so I’m not an extremely reliable source on this, but I’m pretty sure that if you apply Early Decision to Brown, you have three options:
- ED to Brown
- ED to Brown AND PLME
- ED to a dual Brown/RISD program
We only care about option 2 in this case. Underneath this question, it asks you something along the lines of, “If you are an applicant to PLME ED and you get rejected, do you still want to be held under the ED restrictions for Brown College”.

This is a confusing process. Here’s how I think of it:
~If you apply ED to PLME, you can still be accepted to Brown, even if you aren’t accepted to the uber-competitive PLME program.
~If you want, you can say that you only want to be under PLME ED (stated above), and your application to Brown will be RD.
~Finally, if you apply to Brown College, you do not automatically apply to the PLME program, but if you apply to the PLME program, you automatically apply to Brown college.

Make sense lol?

here’s the supplemental application link as a resource:

lol very very confusing… I wonder whether to not “be considered as an applicant to The College under our binding Early Decision program,” results in you NOT being considered during RD

Yeah that is a good question. I think you would have to decide how much u want to go to Brown. For me, if I decide to go to Brown, I will need to the ED advantage to get in period. I will also check off PLME though, just for the heck of it. I have no hope for PLME though, so I would really just be doing it for the college lol.
