pls advice me

Hey guys. I just wanted to ask a few questions regarding transferring. So basically, I am in my sophomore year and have a GPA of 3.0 in my last semester. However this is because of some challenges I was going thru last semester that really distracted me. However this semester I am doing much better and am looking at making close to 4.0. This is because I intend to transfer to a really good school in my junior year this fall.So to my questions.

a) How are my chances of transferring to a good school like say UCLA for example.

b) As a foreign student, do I have a good chance of getting scholarships or maybe instate scholarships based on a very good GPA.

C) are there specific things that might improve my chances of transferring to a good school, and getting scholarships. I would really love tips from you guys. I would really appreciate it.

a) Are you a California resident? UCLA is hard to transfers to if you are not a resident. Also, you need to have completed 60 credit hours by the application deadline. Lastly, the deadline for UCLA transfer this fall has passed.

b) Transfer students rarely get aid or scholarships. If they get any scholarships, they’re usually really specific for a certain major or type of student.

c) For a “good school”, how good was your high school record? Typically good schools will want your high school transcripts and test scores. Since you’re a junior transfer, these won’t matter as much as your college coursework, but they are still a determining factor.

a) No I am an international student. I meant good schools like UCLA.
b) Oh i didn’t know that, i felt maybe there could be some colleges that would be willing to offer international students scholarship. Do you know if these specific scholarships are very competitive and are they usually a lot?
c) I had a high school GPA of 3.58. My SAT score was 1790 (1240 CR/M).

Thanks for your reply, Looking forward to hearing from you.

There is not a lot of scholarship money for transfer students. There is not a lot of scholarship money for international students. This means that there is even less for international transfers.

Each college and university has information right on its website about scholarships, and whether or not any of them are available for international applicants. Check the websites of the places you are interested in to find out what their policies are.

I have started doing that but like you said there seems to be not that many scholarships for international students. i am still searching and hoping for something good. thanks for ur reply tho.
