Thanks !!!!

I don't know much about UChic, but I know about the ivies.

for an intl student, cornell is the closest reach, followed by brown, and then penn, especially if you're counting on fin aid.

but if you have a very strong academic rec, and you can pay the whole fee, Penn's the Place. It's one of the most diverse and unique of them all, then Brown, and Cornell.

Talking about selectivity, esp for intl, cornell and brown are highly selective, but then, penn is hard to get in to for intls.

You've nothing to lose by applying to all of them. Apply anyway.

Dude, I would recommend retaking the SAT 2 Writing at least.

I'm not applying for fin aid.

Yeah, I wish I could retake my writing. But its too late rite ?

Anyway, thanks for all your feedback

any other feedback ?

:)

i hope ur essays were good. 570 doesn't seem very impressive. but hey, ppl are going places with lower SAT scores anyway. and they might consider it for the simple fact that u are an int'l student. ur other scores are very good. btw, what are u applyin for?

Cornell is definitely the place... as an international student, Cornell has more international representation than all of the other ivies, and was ranked ahead of Penn and Brown in the most recent international rankings done by the London School of Economics.

i would recomend lke the other people said... retake writing tests. ur sat is good for the ivies though... u of chicago is a good match for u. but dunno. ur ec's are also kinda lacking.

icic... my 570 on writing is a bit of a prob eh...
but there is no way i can take it now right ?

btw... thanks for all your replies so far...
really appreciate it

oh sorry.. to answer manisan's question...
im apply to do economics

waryap, i do not really understand the registration process for SATs except for the online stuff.. but why dun u try calling them up and ask if theres anyway u may be able to sit for the test this jan? i have seen ppl register on spot at the test centre...but dunno what processes they go thru... so u might just wanna check collegeboard once. hope this is helpful.

I go to Wharton at Penn and I just want you to know that you shouldn't be discouraged about the score you received on the writing SAT II's. They consider that you are an international student and that english is not your first language (hopefully that actually is the case). I know many international students that have done worse on the writing SAT II and the english portion of the SAT I and they were accepted into Penn. Good luck.

bump ( hey guys.... feeling still a bit unsure.. any other opinion esp. on u chicago)

thanks alot

well for u chicago your essays must be great because they value them even more than SATs. Those are the words of an admission officer. Your stats are great by the way except for the writing part. Its good that you are not applying for aid. Good luck.

i see that your 20 years old how come that you are only HS senior

i think you r fine, 570 is almost equivalent to a 700, seriously! if you retake, i am sure you'll do well, out of all SATs writing is the easiest to beat, with the right study guides, anyway, i think u r fine! great scores, ECs
where are u from anyway?
nice 800M!!!

dude - u have better chances than I do - I am applying for fin aid and got 510 in writing so dont worry:P
