Excellent odds for both schools. Kudos to whoever owns this résumé.
Your course rigor is good and GPA too, however, your test score is weak for NU and rice. SAT 2100 or ACT 31 is right around the 25th percentile. In particular, your CR+M is only 1310 since your Math score is only 600. The mid 50 SAT math score for NU enrolled freshmen was 680-770
Don’t know about Rice but looks above average for NU though admission’s going to be really competitive this year. SAT isn’t the highest but high enough. The decision will probably depend on the overall quality of the app (good essays, quality of ECs and grades, etc). Also what school you applied to will play a factor also. I’d say you have a higher chance if you applied to Weinberg over McCormick as your math scores really aren’t high enough for engineering.
Test score is not everything but…SAT Average score for Rice 2180 (CR 715, Math 745, W 720) Northwestern is 2200 (CR 725, Math 745, W 730) Good Luck!
if you are set on one of the schools, def. consider ED - this will boost your chances at either of these school. 2100 is on the low side but still in range. Go ED and it’s very likely that you’ll get accepted at one of these.
Yeah thank you. I took the SAT again and i am waiting for the new results. The first test was pretty bad. Will math have a major effect on me if I’m applying as History major?
You have a fairly solid CV, but as most have mentioned, test scores are on the lower tier–and this is especially true juxtaposed against most other Asian applicants. Thus, for those reasons, these will be low-mid reaches.
