The prompt is about if people should make more of an effort to keep things private.

My essay:

Privacy should be more highly regarded, because it leads to a more successful and peaceful world. This is exemplified many times by several examples in history and other popular controversies.

Oscar Wilde, for example, was one of the many people who faced this problem of "privacy." Wilde openly declared himself homosexual in a times where homosexuality was severly frowned upon, and as a result Wilde was imprisoned for what society condemned to be "wrong." If Wilde had a higher sense of privacy and kept his sexual orientation private, he would not have been condemned and faced with such horrendous calumny.

Privacy can also be beneficial in other aspects of life. In several countries around the world, there are several acts of violence towards certain religious groups who openly declare their religious affiliations. Sometimes these acts of violence can even escalate to murder. For example, in Egypt their are several murders that are associated with religious feuds. Christians and Muslims kept murdering each other as a way to get their revenge. All of this bloodshed was simply caused by Egypt's societal values and how religious affiliations in egypt are not private at all.

On a larger scale, a hightened sense of privacy is also beneficial. If several countries world wide had, for example, kept private their militaristic goals, they would not have recieved criticism or world wide condemnation. Iran, for example, faces this problem; Iran keeps stating publicly that it's strengthening its military. If Iran had a higher sense of privacy and kept its militaristic aspirations private, it would not have received such world wide criticism.

Weather it being in the personal life of Oscar Wilde or the religious feuds in Egypt, or in world wide political debates, a higher sense of privacy would have been beneficial to all of these situations. As a result, a hightened sense of privacy would greatly benefit humans all around the world.
