Hi, I'm still a JR. in H.S. and i was thinking about going to my local CC just in case as a back up option.

So...say if I decide to transfer after a year (most preferred) you can still have fun & make friends, right? How about that first year 'freshman experience'??! wouldnt that be missed out on? or not?

is it even possible to transfer after a year? or is the general rule 2 years?

i'd really appreciate some help & answers (:

srsly? 30 views already and no reply??! That’s kinda creepy…

bumpppppppp :)

Yes people transfer after a year but I couldn’t say if more people transfer after 1 year or 2. Sometimes it is easier to transfer into certain programs as a junior so you’d do 2 years at cc.

Yes you can still have fun and make friends though it might not be as easy to do versus being at a 4 year. CC is really what you make of it, if you work hard and get involved heavily in the school and student life then you can transfer to some good 4 year schools once you’re done there.

You can transfer after 1 year. What are the colleges you want to transfer to? This info would make it easier for other to help you.

I’m in California and I have to say I really enjoyed my year at my CC because I tried to take advantage of everything that was available. And this is my personal opinion, the “freshmen experience” is not all that it’s cracked up to be. After you transfer, you’ll be in a new place and that’ll be an experience in itself.

oh and also, if you are using this as your backup plan, I would suggest that you take some classes at your CC this summer if possible so you get a head start on credits.
