Hey guys,
I'm a member of the class of 2015 and along with all my Penn card mailings I've been getting info about starting both a PNC account and a SFCU account. I think I want to open one because my current bank doesn't do business in PA, but I'm looking for feedback about either one. I'm leaning towards SFCU because my bank now, Capital One is a big one, so i think it wouldnt matter if my local bank doesnt have all the bells and whistles of a bigger one if it means better service. Also, PNC would be useless at home, whereas SFCU has a large ATM network.

Thanks

While you would think SFCU has better service, I know people who are always annoyed when they have to go there because the service is slow.

Most people go with PNC and are happy with it - it’s really convenient for most of campus, too. I stayed with my current bank (Bank of America), but I would never want to put my money with SFCU.

PNC! Because don’t you think it’s sketchy that SFCU has to tempt you to open an account with a free t-shirt?

Also because I’ve also heard that PNC is more convenient.

Also look into TD Bank. They have a branch right across from Huntsman Hall. I am not sure why Penn never mentions them, but they have the best hours and service of any bank I have ever used.
