Podcasts on Higher Education

Recently, as I walk to work each day, I've been listening to a series of podcasts by John Merrow, available through PBS at this link: The Merrow Report- Podcast Archives

Each podcast is an extended interview with one person about a particular topic.

Keeping in mind that the set of topics in the college section is from a TV series titled DECLINING BY DEGREES- HIGHER EDUCATION AT RISK, so they have a rather dark outlook, it is still fascinating to hear leaders in an area discuss the negative impact of sports, USNWR rankings, and so forth.

I have not heard them all yet, but each of the ones I've heard has been fascinating. Some of the interviews were apparently done several years ago (references to 1600 SAT total, for example) but still seem timely to me.

Interesting! Thanks for including that link. Might be a nice option this afternoon, since my radio program seems to be in pledge-drive mode today...
