"The final exam will have two parts: identifications (in which you identify and explain the significance of various terms), and an essay. The identifications will be drawn partially from the following list of key terms and concepts. However, there may be some terms on the exam that do not appear on this list."

I can't for the life of me figure out what the hell Van Houweling is talking about. What other terms are there that do not appear on the review sheet? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

obviously he wants to make sure that you read all the course material and that you have been paying attention in class. There must be some sort of emphasized terms in either lecture notes or in the reading that is not on the list. Go through your notes and find some important terms/theories/people that have been emphasized in class that is not on the review sheet and study those. Luckily, there probably wont be a lot of those.

I’m also taking this ridiculously vague final. We have no choice for the essay too… which sucks. (My GSI said that it would cover the whole semester’s work - the essay - and we will be expected to draw on specific topics and examples even though the question will be broad.)
