I'm going to major in Poli Sci- Int. Relations (Marshall, Junior Transfer) and I wanted to see if there were any other poli sci majors in here. If so how is the course work? Any professors that I should avoid or who are really good? Any other advice?

Professor Magagna is really good. His classes fill up insanely fast though.

The course work depends on the class/professor… but expect a lot of reading (I’m sure you already realize political science is a reading/writing-intensive major).

I’m just getting into the upper-division courses, so i haven’t tried too many professors. But so far I would recommend Roeder and Galderisi

I haven’t had a bad prof yet in poli. A lot of the classes I’ve taken have been taught by grad students. Both they and the actual profs I’ve had have been great. I would really recommend Magagna and Feeley. Galderisi is pretty funny and Naoi was great too.

The work load depends on the class. There might be a paper, there might not be. I’ve ahd a few that only had an in class midterm and final and no other components. As for reading, that depends on the prof too. In most cases, it’s not absolutely essential.
