<p>one of you guys (papajohns or anonymouse) criticize the ways of the Israeli army - I'll tell you that, Israeli army is suffering MAJOR casulties in order to reduce to minimum the number of innocents during action - the ones who actually uses the civilians as living buddy gaurds are the terrorists themselves who hide among them. the US army for that matter doesn't do the same as the Israeli army - ask any military expert and he'll tell you about how moral the Israeli army is. other than that, saying sharon is a terrorists (again, i'm in no way a sharon fan) is clearly showing ignorance regarding the term of terrorism - if a civilian is killed is not always terrorism, it is when the act is intentioned in that way from the begining and has no other objective but killing everyone around the "terrorist" (are the british police officers who killed the innocent brazilian suspected of being a terrorists in london terrorists?) some one said Israeli troops are firing with no distingtion and just "shoot to kill", it's an absolute lie, if he only knew the number of approvals a solider must have before firing.</p>
<p>and one more thing, one of you guys said to orrican that being israeli means he hate arabs - that is one of the stupidest things i've ever heard. i debated with many muslims about this subject and for a second i didn't think that being a muslim means he hate jews. sorry but it's just pure ignorance, you would be surprised if a survey was conducted i'm sure you'll find there are almost no hate feelings towards arabs what so ever, other than that, there are almost no hate crimes against arabs in israel. why? because the israeli media is free and isn't directed but goverment like in Iran or egypt (just watch the shows broadcasted in Iran, it's horrible), there is no other country in the world in which the media is as self judgementive as in Israel (all the media is made of left-wingers, you won't find one sharon supported among any of the daily papers or TV stations).</p>
<p>btw - what i wrote here clearly states the Ariel Sharon isn't a terrorists. you can call him many things - a poor tactiction, a radical, whatever, but not a terrorists - arafat on the other hand...</p>
<p>and oorican - the 101 squad all were sentenced to jail btw after the incident. did you ever hear of any terror org. leader put in jail after killing Israeli civilians? i think not...</p>
<p>Israeli soliders who are suspected to have their "finger light on the triger" are brought to justice, but in general there aren't many cases beacuse of the high decepline in the Israeli army.</p>
<p>oorican - you can not say sharon did a good job in lebanon in 1982, Israel shouldn't have stayed there for so long, it was a wrong. the basic Idea of preventing the missiles attacks was right, but obviously as history shows, Israel went to deep and for too long (which still doesn't change the fact that it has to be done). Actually oorican, palstinian death toll during IDF ops in the territories is more due to the fact that terrorists hide in civilians homes and use them as a live shield, never have I heard of IDF soliders just firing on a crows like to described - it's absurd, no commander would ever get permission to just "spray" the crowd with bullets. never happened, never will.</p>

<p>But you're wrong about 1982. You're right that we stayed there for too long, but you are forgeting that we stayed there in order to keep restrain the PLO, which was enevr destroyed in Lebanon, and the newly founded Hizzbaula.
So the operations there were intedned to defend Israel all along those years, and thus it was legitimtae.</p>
<p>Israel eventualy decided to leave because of the mounting Israeli cassualties. And in reality we've never really left lebanon - only on the ground. Because we continue to patrol Lebanon from the sky to this day in order to keep the terrorists there at bay.</p>
