Political Economics

I got into Berkeley and i applied for the economics major. can i go there and when i have to apply for the major during my first semester, can i apply as political economics instead? and what is political economics? lol

yes, you can.

read the major description on the website…sorry, too lazy to post link. it sounds really interesting!

^shes right, you can!

well since in community college i did the prereqs for econ major. how does that work out when the political econ major has different prereqs? do those not matter?

your units will still transfer over…you might have to take more weeder classes than expected since you changed majors…
check out the degree requirement for poli econ and see how comparable it is with econ. i would think that the prereqs would be somewhat similar…but then again i probably have no idea what i’m talking about :)

Political Economy is roughly a mix between economics and political science. Think of how governments and individuals utilize economies to make wealth. For example, the Japanese Miracle is a great example of how governments can enhance economic activity in the domestic sphere.

Hope that helps.
