Political economy major-first year schedule NEED HELP

Hi everyone.

I am trying to figure out the schedule for next year at cal and I have NO IDEA what classes I should take. I'm planning to major in Political economy.

I have AP credits for Calc AB, BC, Physics C, USH, Euro, Studio Art and possibly Psych and Lit (this year). Does any of these count for credit or get me out of introductory classes?

Do I even have to take math besides stats maybe?

For the language requirement, I have studied French for 4 years (not fluent but I can read and write) and will start learning Chinese this summer. I'm wondering if I can manage to do 2 languages on top of all the other classes I need to take.

What would a good first semester schedule for political economy major look like?

Thanks!

Strictly speaking the only AP credit that fulfills political economy course requirements would be:

4 on both economics = Economics 1

5 on world history = IAS 45

3 on statistics = Statistics 2

5 on foreign language = foreign language requirement (other scores may give placement into higher levels than the beginner course – check each foreign language department; the political economy major requires proficiency equivalent to completion of the fourth semester course)

Note: other majors may have different thresholds of AP scores to exempt students from course requirements.

Others that may be relevant:

calculus = may help with prerequisites if you choose a more math heavy version of intermediate micro and macro economics. For example, IAS 106 and 107 do not require calculus, but all of the other options in the economics, business, or environmental economics departments do.

Beyond major requirements, there are also general university, campus, and L&S requirements:

AP credit also gives you credit units, which may give you a class standing higher than your class level.
