I’m going to Bryn Mawr in the fall, which I’m absolutely excited about. One of my issues, though, is where BM falls on the political spectrum. I personally want a rather liberal school. But considering studying comes up more than politics on this board, I’m not sure what I’m going to be facing. Yes, I know that it is very tolerant of every persuasion (which I do appreciate. Some of the best discussions come from educated people on the other side), and I know that as an all womens school, it’s going to have left slant regardless, but I’d like to know how deep it is.
One of the reasons I couldn’t go to Smith, as said by my father, was because it was too liberal. It probably didn’t help that the first people we met were two ladies holding hands. As you can probably tell, my father isn’t Democrat. But I am. How exactly does the student population respond to this? I don’t expect protests and such, but I would like my college to be pretty blue.
